Parent Language

About Us

Parent Language was started by Tammy Young, an adoptive mom
of two. After adopting a child of four who did not speak English,
Tammy was inspired to help others who are adopting children
internationally. "My son picked up English incredibly quickly. I just
wish we'd been able to communicate more easily during the first
few, formative weeks."

Tammy holds a B.A. from Middlebury College and M.A. from Yale
Graduate School of Arts and Sciences in East Asian Studies. She
has worked in education as a teacher of Japanese and ESL, and
in software consulting, heading up project management and quality
assurance groups. She is also a member of the Board of Directors
of the Kazakh Aul of the United States, Association for American
and Kazakh Families.

Parent Language is located in Enfield, Connecticut. Feel free to
contact us for more information.
